There is a lot of excitement surrounding the upcoming Terminator film, and now they are about to add a new face.
When James Cameron announced that he was not only returning to the Terminator franchise, but making a direct sequel to Terminator 2 and ignoring the sequels that have come after that, fans got elated. Then it was announced that Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger were returning as well, which made the excitement even greater. While plot details have been kept under wraps, it is known that Tim Miller is directing, and that Cameron himself wrote the script with Miller and Skydance’s (the production company) David Ellison. And now it appears as if the franchise is about to announce they’ve hired a new face.
Mackenzie Davis, star of AMC’s Halt and Catch Fire, and the films That Awkward Moment, The Martian and Blade Runner 2049, appears set to sign onto the film. She also has two films coming out later this year, Jason Reitman’s Tully and the thriller The Turning. While nothing is for certain, it’s said she might be playing the robotic assassin like Schwarzenegger did in the 1984 original.
The latest Terminator film is scheduled to premiere on July 26, 2019.
